Q: When can I take this exam?
A: You can register for the new exam (200-550 code with Pearson VUE) starting today, Oct. 3, 2013. The first exam delivery will be on Oct. 7, 2013.

Q: How long will you continue to offer the PHP 5.3 exam since that is the one I’ve been studying for?
A: We will continue to offer the PHP 5.3 certification exam until the end of the year, Dec. 31, 2013.

Q: I just took the PHP 5.3 exam, does this make my exam outdated?
A: No, the exam was developed so that once someone is certified on PHP they are certified for life. While there is no need to take the exam again, some ZCEs do to show they are current with the latest technology. It is completely optional to retake.

Q: What are the differences between the PHP 5.3 and PHP 5.5 exam?
A: The new PHP 5.5 exam (new name is Zend Certified PHP Developer) is covering the same topics as the 5.3 exam, but the exam has been updated to provide more focus on the key knowledge areas for PHP Development. Some areas were also expanded to include more emphasis on improved functionality in the 5.4 & 5.5 versions. You can find the list of exam topics here: http://www.zend.com/services/certification/php-certification/

Q: When will the Study Guide and Test Prep: PHP 5.3 class be updated for the PHP 5.5 exam?
A: We are working on reviewing the materials now to see what changes need to be made. We hope to have this available in the next month. However, none of the major topics covered in the study guide or class have changed so these are still a great tool to prepare with.
